Galway City assault victim rushed to Beaumont Hospital

From this week’s Galway City Tribune – A man who suffered head injuries after an assault in the city on Wednesday evening has been transferred from UHG to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin for treatment.

Gardaí were called to the scene of a row in Eyre Square shortly after 8.30pm where they found one man suffering from head injuries.

The victim – understood to be in his early 30s – was subsequently taken by ambulance to UHG before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital for the treatment of a serious head injury.

“We are taking a very serious of this incident which has resulted in one person suffering serious head injuries.

“We are reviewing CCTV footage taken in that area and are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry,” said a Garda spokesperson.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident on Saturday night last in the Cross Street area of the city, Gardaí arrested two people after a street brawl which involved at least six people.
