Galway call for tougher penalties for theft from bring banks

A city councillor wants the Minister for Justice to increase the penalties for people who steal from clothes bring banks.

Councillor Donal Lyons asked Independent T.D Noel Grealish to table a parliamentary question asking the Minister to increase the penalties for people who are convicted of stealing from bring banks.

He says that he has received many representations from people who are angered at the practice of stealing from these bring banks, especially during a time of austerity.
