Galway Bay fm’s FYI Galway shortlisted in national radio awards
Galway Bay fm’s FYI Galway has been shortlisted as Best News Programme in the PPI national radio awards for a second consecutive year, having taken the silver award last year
The nomination by the judging panel means the evening news programme is one of the top five radio news programmes on the island of Ireland this year
It comprises a mix of live news, interviews and analysis on the day’s local, national and international news and sport, as well as traffic and business information.
FYI Galway will compete with RTE’s News at One, BBC Radio Ulster’s The Snow, Newstalk’s Breakfast news, and Midwest News
The overall winner will be announced at a gala awards ceremony to be held at Lyrath House Hotel in Kilkenny next month (October 4).
The PPI awards are now in their thirteenth year and aim to acknowledge the contribution of writers, broadcasters, producers, reporters, presenters, and technicians in informing, educating and entertaining radio listeners throughout the island of Ireland.
