Up to 100 jobs are to go at Galway based airline, Aer Arann.

Airline management has entered talks with staff representatives in relation to a new cost reduction plan.

It says it is implementing the proposals to ensure its long term future.

The airline is cutting the number of aircraft it operates from 12 to 9, but says its key routes will be unaffected.

It’s not yet known what impact the job losses will have on staff working at Galway airport.
