Galway Bay fm newsroom – Organisers of this weekend’s Galway Bake Fest say the event is set to generate one million euro for the local economy.

The two day festival takes place in Leisureland in Salthill from 11 on Saturday morning.

It’s organised by local firm Goodness Cakes in association with Act for Meningitis with all funds raised going towards the charity.

Top chefs sharing their skills include the BBC’s Patrick Ryan and double Michellin star chef Kevin Thornton.

Festival Director Jennie Browne says it will give local business a welcome boost.
