GALWAY ANTI WAR GROUP TO STAGE PROTESTS AGAINST STATE VISITS

Galway Alliance Against War will stage two funeral processions through the city this week to mark the State visits of Queen Elizabeth the Second and US President Barack Obama.

At 1 o’clock on Thursday and Saturday the group will gather outside the King’s Head pub and carry a symbolic coffin through the streets before placing it in the River Corrib.

They say it’s to remember the innocent victims killed by British and US military forces over the past ten years.
