Galway anti-austerity campaign selects two city local election candidates
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Galway Campaign Against Home and Water Taxes has selected two city candidates to run in the local elections next year.
The anti-austerity group has put forward Oranmore native Conor Burke to run in the east ward.
The 34 year old is a carpenter by trade and has been involved in the local campaign since its inception.
Claddagh native Tommy Holohan is a painter/decorator by trade who has also been involved in the campaign since its early stages and is to run in the west ward of the city.
Plans are also being made to identify candidates for the city central ward and for the county with details expected to be announced in September.
