Galway All-Ireland ticket scramble underway – before they’re even printed

The Galway scramble for All-Ireland hurling final tickets is already well underway – and they haven’t even been printed yet!

Galway senior hurlers will take on Kilkenny in the decider at Croke Park at 4pm on Sunday, September 6 and die-hard supporters and anyone with even a passing interest in GAA will want to be there.

The phenomenal performance the Galway seniors produced in the semi-final to beat Tipperary in a thriller on Sunday, will also encourage neutrals to hunt for tickets for the annual hurling showpiece.

The Galway minors play Tipperary in the curtain-raiser, after defeating Kilkenny last Sunday, which should ensure even greater demand for tickets out West.

“The demand for tickets will be massive,” said Jarlath Cloonan, Galway Hurling Committee PRO.

“You saw yourself last Sunday there was huge, absolutely huge support from Galway. They expected maybe a crowd of 40,000 and they got 58,000, and a huge amount of that support travelled from Galway.”

The Athenry clubman confirmed that tickets would be distributed through clubs and would not go on general sale through Pearse Stadium. Clubs could expect tickets to arrive from next week.
