GALWAY AIRPORT TURN ATTENTION TO COUNTY COUNCIL
Date Published: 12-Feb-2013
Galway airport can now look forward to the next phase of its service to the region.
That’s according to CEO of Galway chamber Michael Coyle following last night’s approval by the city council to allocate 50 thousand euro to the airport.
This is now subject to Galway County Council providing matching funding.
Yesterday, the National transport authority agreed to allocate funding of 100 thousand euro to facilitate a park n’ ride on lands at Galway airport.
It’s understood a private bus company is willing to run the one year pilot scheme at Carnmore.
Galway County Council initially approved the funding last December and a final decision is expected to be made at its next meeting.
Galway chamber of commerce are the majority shareholder of the airport.
Speaking on Galway Talks, CEO Michael Coyle says attention will now turn to the county council and providing it with the airport business plan.
