GALWAY AIRPORT STRIKE DEFERRED

Strike action, due to take place at Galway airport in Carnmore tomorrow, has been deferred.

Last Friday, 35 members of trade union SIPTU working at Galway Airport voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action.

The ballot took place following a dispute between managment and staff over the renewal of several contracts.

Day long talks took place yesterday at the Labour Relations commission and SIPTU says it is now happy to recommend the terms from those talks for acceptance.
