GALWAY AIRPORT STAFF CONTINUE SIT IN
Date Published: 07-Feb-2012
Galway airport management will meet Department of Transport and Bank of officials today to discuss a rescue package for the company.
Over 1 million euro in funds was taken from the airport’s accounts to reduce company loans several days ago.
The money had been earmarked for redundancy payments.
The remaining 11 workers at the airport in Carnmore began a 24 hour sit in protest last night.
Spokesperson for the staff Sean Adair told Galway Bay FM this morning that while the occupation continues today, business will continue at the airport from 9am.
