GALWAY AIRPORT MORE LIKELY TO CLOSE

It looks increasingly likely that Galway Airport will close, following confirmation by the Government that it can’t continue subsidising it.

Last Friday, Transport Minister, Leo Varadkar met with management at Galway Airport.

Prior to the meeting he said there would be no reversal of the Government’s decision to cut support for the airport at Carnmore.

According to today’s Irish Times, Galway Airport, joins Sligo and Waterford Airports facing the prospect of closure.
