GALWAY AIRPORT FACING BATTLE TO MAINTAIN OPERATIONS
Date Published: 12-Oct-2011
Galway airport is now faced with re-structuring its entire operation after Aer Arann suspended flights for the Winter season.
From the end of this month, flights between the airport and London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Waterford will stop until early next year.
Redundancies are expected at the airport following the decision and talks with the Aer Arann’s 35 flight deck and cabin crew at Carnmore are underway.
Managing Director of Galway Airport, Joe Walsh says he is confident the facility can continue until next year.
