Representatives from Galway Airport are meeting officials from the Department of Transport in Dublin today over the future of the airport.

The Government is claiming that the European Commission will not allow the retention of the Public Service Obligation which provides millions of euro in state support to regional airports.

However, Galway Airport management is disputing the claims.

After travelling to Brussels they’ve received assurances from European officials that the support programme is not an issue for the Commission.
