Gabrielle and The Blizzards added to bill for Pearse Stadium music festival
UK singer Gabrielle and multi award-winning Irish act The Blizzards have been announced as support acts for the Black Eyes Peas in Pearse Stadium, Galway in June.
The two acts were added to the bill this morning for Saturday, June 4 at the ‘Rise Live’ festival.
Yesterday, the Galway City Tribune reported that the event organisers have applied to Galway City Council for permission to hold a two-day music festival at the GAA grounds on the June Bank Holiday weekend. Initially, it had been publicised as a one-day event.
Details of acts for the Sunday have not yet been announced, but the promoters have said it will be geared towards families and will include “a selection of Irish country and Irish folk artists”.
Gabrielle’s record breaking debut single ‘Dreams’ spent three weeks at Number 1 in the summer of 1993. Her Number 1 album ‘Rise’ sold more they 1.2 million copies, with songs like ‘Out Of Reach’, ‘When a Woman’, ‘Sunshine’ and ‘Should I Stay’.
Irish band The Blizzards, fronted by Bressie, will also play on the Saturday.
Tickets are available from Ticketmaster.
