The public hearing on the proposed Connemara cycling and walking route has today been hearing submissions from locals and business people.

The route between Oughterard and Clifden is over 51 kilometres in length and most of it would follow the old Connemara railway line.

Today, the second day of the oral hearing heard that Shane Geoghegan who runs the Glen Gowla mines visitor centre was opposed to the route, part of which goes through their land.
