FURTHER REDUCTION IN OVERCROWDING AT UHG CASUALTY
Date Published: 08-Apr-2008
The overcrowding crisis at University Hospital Galway is abating with 16 people now awaiting admission, down from 40 earlier today.
A HSE spokeswoman told Galway bay FM News its expected that all patients will be accommodated appropriated by this evening.
However, people are still being asked not to attend the A&E department at U.H.G. unless it’s an emergency situation.
The HSE West is asking people if at all possible to visit their GPs first before attending A&E.
Staff at A and E were under extreme pressure due to the situation which has been building up since yesterday morning.
