FURTHER BAIL REMAND FOR CITY MAN CHARGED WITH THEFT OF 13 GUNS

A 41 year old city man has been remanded on continuing bail in connection with the theft of thirteen shotguns and rifles from a Ballinasloe premises almost two years ago.
James Ward of 41 Slieve Rua, Ballybane appeared before Galway District Court today.
James Ward is charged with the theft of nine Gamo air rifles, a baikal shotgun, a hornet .22 rifle, a Shadow air rifle and a 1250 air rifle from a premises at Kilgorrive, Creagh, Ballinasloe on November 27th 2007.
Inspector Ernie White told Judge Mary Fahy at Galway District Court that the Book of Evidence wasn’t ready to be served on Ward as it was a very complicated case.
Judge Fahy agreed to extend the time for service of the book of evidence and remanded Ward on continuing bail to appear before Galway District Court on Wednesday November the 4th.
