Funding secured to repair storm damaged Ballinahown graveyard
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Funding is to be made available to repair Reilig Mhaoiris cemetry in Ballinahown following severe storm damage.
Minister Coveney has announced that the cemetry near Rossaveal will be repaired under storm damage funding.
Work will include the placing of rock armour, the reconstruction of a wave wall, the rebuilding of the graveyard wall and road repairs.
Minsiter Coveney visited the graveyard last week and will now instruct the County Manager to proceed with works.
Deputy Sean Kyne says the damage has caused great upset to the local community and funding is much needed.
