Funding for flood victims to be discussed by Cabinet
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Cabinet will today discuss plans for an emergency fund of 10 million euro to help victims of flooding, including those in Galway.
Further funding could also be pledged if the damage from recent rain and high tides costs even more to repair.
Meanwhile, residents and businesses in Cork City are being told to brace themselves for more flooding today.
The city council has issued a tidal flood alert as the River Lee reaches high tide this morning and tonight.
Counties further inland are also being warned of the risk of flooding this afternoon.
Heavy rain is expected, with up to 50 millimetres forecast for some areas.
