FUNDING FOR FLOOD RELIEF WORKS IN GALWAY

Over 180 thousand euro is to be invested in further flood relief measures for the East and South Galway region.

The work funded by the OPW will be focused in five key locations.

These include Ballinasloe town, Woodlawn in Ballinasloe, Ballyhugh and Shanaglish in Gort, and Caherpeak in Kilcolgan.

Junior Minister and East Galway Fine Gael TD Ciaran Cannon says it’s part of continued efforts to prevent any risk of reoccurrence of the flooding experienced in November 2009.
