Fun with Apes at Roisin
Date Published: 22-May-2007
Hailing from Dublin and weighing in at over 600lbs, Fight Like Apes will play Strange Brew in the Róisín Dubh on Thursday, May 31. Combining loutish vocals with driving bass and digital distortion, their lively blend of new wave punk and indie rock has already proved a hit with Irish gig-goers.
After creating a huge amount of interest on the Dublin underground scene over the last few months, they will release their debut EP How Am I Supposed To Kill You If You Have All The Guns? this Friday. The EPs lead track Lend Me Your Face has already had 12,000 plays on their MySpace page.
Earlier this year, the band set out on a path of destruction across the gin joints and music halls of Ireland. Not really aiming for anything more than having fun playing music, Fight Like Apes were invited to play at the UK Bar Fly venues, the IMRO Best Of Tour Showcase, Pop-Komm and In The City.
With a loyal fanbase it looks like 2007 will be the year of the Apes. Admission to what promises to be an exciting gig is free.
