Fun fest set to have Galway in stitches

A who’s who of the comedy world is making its way to Galway for next month’s biggest ever Comedy Festival.

Tommy Tiernan, David O’Doherty, Reginald D Hunter, Rich Hall, Des Bishop, the Rubberbandits, Phill Jupitus, Ardal O’Hanlon, Andrew Maxwell, PJ Gallagher, John Cooper Clarke and Aprés Match are just some of the stars who will be in the city over the twelve-day festival.

Among the latest stars added to the bill is Rob Delaney, the US-born, London-based comedian who has over one million followers on Twitter alone.

The Vodafone Comedy Carnival Galway will run from Thursday to Monday, October 16 to 27. The extensive and eclectic programme will feature the very best of Irish and international comedy – both established as well as emerging talent.

Also confirmed are Simon Amstell, Milton Jones, David Baddiel, Judah Friedlander, Todd Barry, Shappi Korsandi, Terry Alderton, Abandoman, Stephen Frost Improv Allstars, Bernard O’Shea, David McSavage, Dermot Whelan,  Arthur Smith sings Leonard Cohen, Fawlty Towers: The Dining Experience, Karl Spain, Eleanor Tiernan, Jarlath Regan, Tara Flynn and many more.

Venues of varying levels of intimacy will be used throughout the city including, for the first time, the iconic, world-famous Spiegeltent ‘Paradiso’.

This stunning 500 capacity venue is a 1930’s European wooden tent featuring a luxurious interior including unique mirrors, leaded glass plus a lush velvet and brocade finish. It must be seen to be believed and will bring a magical air to the city, surrounded by its very own comedy village.
