There’s been a major set-back to plans to build a new All-Irish Secondary School in the city.

Department of Education officials have confirmed Colaiste na Coiribe isn’t included in the next Public-Private-Partnership building programme.

It means the school won’t get funding for a new building.

It comes just a week after Minister O’Keeffe finally gave Galway City VEC the go-ahead to buy a site in Knocknacarra from the city council.
