A company with headquarters in Brittany in France has decided – after lengthy consideration – that it will not become involved in the seaweed industry in Connemara.

This news was given at a meeting of the Údarás na Gaeltachta board this week.

The Brittany seaweed company Setalg had been assessing Arramara Teoranta over the past year.

Údarás na Gaeltachta owns Arramara and Setalg was the company favoured to either buy Arramara or to become a major shareholder.
