FREEDOM OF CITY BESTOWED UPON VOLVO CHAIRMAN

John Killeen – Chairman of Let’s Do It Galway – will be honoured with the freedom of Galway City at the end of next month.

The decision to bestow the honour upon him was made behind closed doors at City Hall last night.

All 15 city councillors voted in favour of the motion.

John Killeen helped bring the Volvo Ocean Race to Galway last Summer and was the driving force behind the successful bid for 2012.
