Galway’s senior citizens, the homeless and those with special needs can avail of free taxis next week as part of a charity work initiative.

The ‘progressive friends taxi association’ has joined forces with Cope Galway, the Simon Community and St.Vincent De Paul to offer the service.

The association which is made up of 28 migrant taxi drivers, have given over 100 cards to the three charities, which they in turn will offer to their members.

The free pick up and drop service will operate from 9am to 6pm tommorow until Saturday, and will cover a 20k radius from the city centre.
