Free concert at Galway City Museum

Musical Exhibits, the first in a series of family music concerts being held in Galway City Museum over the summer, will take place on Saturday, June 7.

The free concert will feature Galway’s Ensemble in Residence, ConTempo Quartet and several of the musicians taking part in its apprentice programme, including saxophonist Gavin Brennan. It will take place from 3.10pm to 4.40pm in the Galway City Museum.

This family-friendly event (but all are welcome) will give parents and their children a chance to enjoy performances by the renowned ConTempo and the young musicians participating in their apprentice programme. Audiences will have the opportunity to explore the museum and hear the musicians play in different rooms.

The music in Musical Exhibits will include pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Astor Piazzolla and Allesandro Marcello and more. People will also have a chance to ask questions about the music, instruments and to give audience feedback about the performances. This event is free and all are welcome.
