FRANK FAHEY DEFENDS HIS POOR VOTING RECORD
Date Published: 22-Sep-2008
Galway west deputy Frank Fahey has defended his poor voting record in the Dáil, where he’s among the bottom five TDs for voting.
Newly published figures reveal Deputy Fahey has voted 79 times since June 2007, that’s just 60 per cent of the total votes cast by TDs.
In a statement issued to Galway Bay fm news Deputy Fahey says he would like it to be noted that as a member of the Council of Europe he is required to be away for meetings and the majority of the votes missed were during these trips.
Deputy Fahey has also pointed out he’s a member of the Irish Parliamentary Association and has travelled abroad to represent the Government with the Inter-Parliamentary Unit.
