FOUR NOW ARRESTED AFTER 2.5 MILLION EURO DRUGS HAUL IN MILLTOWN
Four people have been arrested following the seizure of drugs worth an estimated 2.5 million Euro in Milltown earlier today.
Two men, one in his mid-40s and one in his mid-50s, were arrested initially and two more were arrested when Gardai stopped and searched a car in Tuam this afternoon.
Those arrested are currently being questioned at Mill Street Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996.
It is understood that those arrested are of Asian nationality.
Gardai from the Divisional Drugs Unit at Mill Street Garda Station in Galway, assisted by local gardai and the Regional Support Unit swooped on the building in an industrial estate in Milltown early today.
They seized approximately 3,000 cannabis plants and drug growing paraphernalia.
