It’s being reported that a pathologist, who’s work is currently under review at Cork University Hospital, and who worked at University Hospital Galway, misdiganosed two women for cancer in his native Finland.

Up to 15 cancer cases at C-U-H are under review amidst fears of misdiagnosis.

The doctor received his licence to practice here just days after a Finnish investigation put a second negligence finding on his record.

The H-S-E is refusing to give details of the background checks it carried out-except to say that the onus is on the employee to prove they’re not the subject of investigation.
