FORMER GALWAY MINISTER TO RECEIVE 100K PENSION

A former Galway Minister will receive a pension of over 113 thousand euro every year.

Today’s Irish Independent reports that Former Marine Minister Frank Fahey is one of 30 former Ministers entitled to annual payments worth more than 100 thousand euro.

The former Galway West Deputy is to receive a TD’s pension of over 51 thousand euro and a ministerial pension of over 61 thousand euro.

Galway’s President Elect Michael D Higgins will receive a total pension sum of over 87 thousand euro for his years in politics.

This is followed by Galway East former Fianna Fail politician Noel Treacy who is to receive a total pension sum of over 83 thousand euro.

Finally, former Fine Gael Minister Paul Connaughton is to benefit from a pension of over 67 thousand euro.
