Forest park road is a matter for locals

MINISTER for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, John Gormley, could offer no assistance to the effort to stop the Terryland Forest Road from going ahead, during a visit to the site of the proposed road yesterday.
The Minister stopped to survey the site as part of his one day visit to Galway, but while he said he was in favour of preserving as much green space as possible, he said he would not be stepping in to try and stop the Forest Road — which would provide a spur link between the Dyke Road and Quincentenary Bridge — from going ahead.
