Date Published: 16-Mar-2012
A forensic collision investigation team is expected to arrive shortly at the scene of a city crash where a man was seriously injured.
The man, understood to be in his late 20s and from Galway, was hit by a car close to the Rahoon cemetry close to the entrance of ros geal at around 5:30 this morning.
He’s been taken to University Hospital Galway.
It’s understood three cars were involved in the incident.
Early reports indicate the man had driven to the area, and got out of his vehicle to inspect another car, when he was hit by an oncoming car on the road.
Rahoon road is closed between Millars lane and Bishop O’ Donnell road for at least a couple of hours to allow for a technical examination.
Gardaí say motorists will have to take alternative routes, which is likely to add traffic on the circular road.
