FORENSIC COLLISION EXPERTS TO EXAMINE BAILE NA hABHANN SCENE

Forensic collision investigators will today carry out a technical examination of the scene at Baile na hAbhann where a female pedestrian died.

The 46 year old local woman who also worked in the area was struck by a car close to Costcutters on the R336 shortly after 6pm yesterday.

She was taken to University Hospital Galway where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

The road will be closed for most of the morning pending completion of an examination of the scene.
