FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT KEY TO GALWAY’S FUTURE GROWTH
Date Published: 30-Jan-2013
Galway’s ability to attract foreign direct investment is a key factor in the future growth of the local economy.
That’s according to Bank Of Ireland Chief Economist Dan McLaughlin who is the key note speaker at the SCUUL Mentors 2013 programme launch in the city this evening.
Dr. MacLaughlin is one of Ireland’s best known economists and has written extensively on economics and financial markets.
He says there has been a two speed economy in Ireland over recent years with the export led sector doing well.
However, he says that there are now signs that consumer spending is finally beginning to improve as well as a slight increase in business spending.
Dr. McLaughlin will address the SCCUL Mentor Programme Launch in the Clayton Hotel at 6 this evening.
