The current flooding on the Ennis to Limerick rail line could threaten the viability of the soon to be opened Ennis to Galway rail line.

That’s according to Fine Gael TD Pat Breen who fears if this flooding issue is not resolved people will have grave doubts about using the commuter line from Galway to Ennis.

The 60 million euro Ennis Galway line is due to open in April 2009.

Deputy Breen says people must be assured that rail is a reliable form of transport.
