FLOODING DELAYS OPENING OF WESTERN RAIL CORRIDER

The flooding crisis in South Galway has delayed the opening of the much anticipated western rail corridor from Ennis to Athenry.

Services on the route were due to begin in January, but severe flooding in the wider area has blocked the line.

Driver training for the rail line has also been stopped since last week.
