FLEA OUTBREAK DUE TO FERAL CATS AT UHG NOW CONTAINED

The flea problem associated with feral cats on the grounds of University Hospital Galway has now been contained.

HSE management has stated that the hospital is now entering into a pilot programme with the Galway Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to keep the feral cat problem under control.

Members were advised of the update at a meeting of the HSE West Regional Health Forum last evening.
