The first Dáil vote on the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill takes place this evening

In Galway West Independent Noel Grealish, Fianna Fail’s Eamon O Cuiv and Fine Gael’s Brian Walsh are to vote against the bill

Deputy Walsh will lose the Fine Gael whip and be expelled from the party as a result of his action

Party colleague Sean Kyne will vote in favour of the bill while fellow coalition TD Labour’s Derek Nolan will vote for the bill

In Galway East Fine Gael’s Ciaran Cannon and Paul Connaughton will vote in favour of the new legislation on abortion while newly independent Colm Keaveney and Fianna Fail’s Micheal Kitt will vote against
