CITY TRIBUNE
Fisherwives drama at the Spanish Arch
The Fisherwives, a unique, site-specific outdoor performance, will be performed at the city’s Spanish Arch this Sunday, September 30, at 3pm, staged by recently formed local company, Brú Theatre.
Based on Galway’s fishmarkets of 100 years ago, this outdoor performance is being presented in conjunction with Claddagh Community School, Galway City Museum, Atelier für Physisches Theater (Berlin) and Galway 2020’s Small Towns Big Ideas
Mixing masks, folklore and fish, the Fisherwives will silently weave their way through the Spanish Arch selling their catch.
Cleite, their site-specific production for Galway Theatre Festival, performed at Kate’s Cottage in the Claddagh was a simple, yet stunning piece of work and The Fisherwives promises more of same. All are welcome.
