FIRE CREWS FIND SOURCE OF SMOKE ALERT AT DUNNES TERRYLAND

Fire crews have found the source of the fire alert at Dunnes Stores Terryland – some smouldering cigarette butts

The smoke alert was triggered at the large department store at 4.30pm

It took crews from two units of the fire brigade an hour and a half to find the source of the burning smell

It came from some smouldering cigarette butts lodged behind a drain pipe

The store was not evacuated during the alert, but the area in question was cordoned off

Fire officers have now declared the area safe
