Galway’s ConTempo Quartet, and choreographer-performer Jérémie Cyr-Cooke have joined forces to create a new piece of dance-theatre, inspired by Philip Glass’s four-movement piece, Company which the American composer completed in January 1983.
The 13-minute eulogy to lockdown, created by these Galway-based performers is a celebration of our temporal beings, as well as challenge of exhausting repetitions, with musicians and dancers conversing about the relationship between music and the human body.
Produced by the Galway Music Residency for Galway Theatre Festival, it will be available to watch online next Wednesday, May 5, at 11am, 1:30pm and 6:30pm.
This event is free but booking is required via www.galwaytheatrefestival.com, with an option to contribute the price of a ticket to support Galway Theatre Festival.
People who have tickets will receive access to a special Q&A event featuring the artists at 7pm on Wednesday.
