Fine line-up of writers as Crannóg turns 40

The 40th issue of Crannóg magazine will be launched this Friday, October 30, upstairs at the Crane Bar, Sea Road, Galway at 6.30pm.

It contains 11 stories and 33 poems from writers such as Dermot Bolger, Evelyn Conlon, Mary O’Donnell, Gerard Smyth and Nuala Ní Chonchúir, along with other local, Irish and international authors.

Crannóg is renowned for its striking cover images and the cover for this special issue is by acclaimed artist Robert Ballagh.

The magazine, produced here in Galway, is firmly established as a publication which brings together local and international writing and consistently maintains its reputation for quality material, in both poetry and prose. It is read worldwide and a number of its contributions have been short-listed for international prizes.

Guest speaker at the launch will be Galway City Arts Officer, James Harrold and the event will featured readings of poetry and fiction by Crannóg contributors. All are welcome and admission is free. Crannóg 40 will be on sale for €7.
