FINE GAEL TD CONFIDENT VOLVO FUNDING SHORTFALL WILL BE MET

Galway West Fine Gael TD Brian Walsh says he’s confident Government can support local Volvo race organisers in paying off its bills.

It’s understood up to 400 thousand euro is owed to suppliers following this years finale in Galway.

A formal application to Failte Ireland to provide further funding some weeks ago was turned down.

Local organisers behind this years Volvo Ocean race, Let’s do it Global, are expected to meet with stakeholders again this week to discuss a future bid.
