FINE GAEL IN WEST WANT AER LINGUS DECISION DEBATED IN DAIL

Over 60 Fine Gael TDs, Senators and local councillors from the west and mid-west met in Shannon today [21/8] where they prepared a strategy to oppose the ending of the Shannon Heathrow air link.

The opposition party is calling on the Government to use its 25 percent shareholding in Aer Lingus to reverse the decision

They are also seeking a recall of the Dáil so that the matter can be discussed in parliament

Galway West Deputy Padraic McCormack says that if the Government doesn’t use its shares in Aer Lingus to reverse the decision, they might as well sell them
