FINAL REPORT ON CONNEMARA PLANE CRASH DUE

The publication of the final report into a plane crash in Connemara two years ago which killed two men is due shortly.

Air Corps personnel, 32 year old Captain Derek Furniss from Dublin and 22 year old Cadet, David Jevins from Wexford were killed in the crash near Cornamona in October 2009.

A preliminary report from the Air Accident Investigation Unit was published last July, but the families of the two men are still awaiting the final report.

The issue has been raised in the Dáil by Deputy Willie O’ Dea who was Defence minister at the time of the crash.
