FINAL DRUGS SEARCHES OFF GALWAY COAST TODAY

Final searches will take place off the coast of Galway this morning following a drugs seizure worth an estimated €100,000.

Several bales of cannabis were discovered in the water near the Aran Islands over the weekend by a passing fishing vessel.

Today’s searches by a team of navy divers come after two more bales of cannabis were plucked from the water off the west coast yesterday.

In total 14 kilos of the drug have been found, with an estimated street value of €100,000.
