FIGURES SHOW FEW HOME VISITS BY WESTDOC SERVICE
Date Published: 02-Jul-2007
It’s emerged that only one in 12 patients contacted by the WestDoc out of hours emergency GP service has been visited by a doctor over the last 4 years.
Figures released under the Freedom of Information Act show that more than 90% of patients in the city & Connemara travelled to the WestDoc headquarters.
This was instead of a GP visiting them in their homes.
The HSE West has defended the figures and says a quality service can be delivered at the co-operative’s headquarters in the Liosban Industrial Estate.
