Fifteen Galway properties to go under hammer

Fifteen properties in Galway – with reserve prices totaling more than €1.1 million – will go under the hammer next month as part of a nationwide Allsop auction.

According to the agents, the Galway offering includes many income-producing properties, but also a large selection of vacant houses and apartments suitable for owner-occupiers and buy-to-let investors.

Commercial Director Robert Hoban said: “As we approach the end of another year, we can look back on an eventful, but encouraging, twelve months for the property market.

“The new lending rules are in place for residential owner occupiers and are now well-established and understood.

“The commercial investment market has witnessed a continued level of healthy activity.

“The rental market continues to seek a release valve to relieve some of the upward pressure on prices. As more vacant residential properties come to the market, such as in this latest catalogue, demand should be further met by supply.

“Also, the approaching year-end signals an opportunity for funds to secure investments within the 2015 financial year,” said Mr Hoban.

Among the residential properties for sale are:

6 Clifton Crescent, Newcastle, Galway. A detached three-bed bungalow extending to 1,420 sq ft and close to NUI Galway and University Hospital. Reserve price not to exceed €200,000.

154 Bohermore, Galway. A mid-terrace three-bed house measuring 860 sq ft. Reserve price €135,000.

30 Danesfort Court, Loughrea. Mid-terrace three-bed house measuring 1,076 sq ft with a good sized rear garden. Reserve price €65,000.

Cor Na Ron, Inverin. A detached four-bed bungalow with gardens to the front and rear. The property measures 829 sq ft. Reserve price €90,000.

138 Rahylin Glebe, Ballybane, Galway. End-of-terrace house arranged to provide two self-contained 1-bed apartments. Reserve price €75,000.

7 Gort na Ri, Ballyhugh, Gort. A detached four-bed house extending to 1,754 sq ft, which is currently rented at €3,000 per annum. Reserve price €60,000.
